Tropical forest floors are full of decaying plant and animal matter. This material decomposes rapidly in the wet, warm conditions (like a compost pile) sending nutrients back into the soil. In order for tropical houseplants to be happy we need to provide them with an environment as close to their natural one as possible.
Our tropical plant mix is structured specifically for plants from the alocasia, monstera and philodendron species. It is an open, humus rich compost which mimicks as closely as possible the forest floor of the tropical environments these plants grow in.

Good to know
We don't add components to our composts that aren't naturally found in the tropical rainforests, like clay pebbles or vermiculite. All of the components in our composts are perfectly adequate for natural growth and good drainage.
